8 and 9 October in Cagliari, the fourth edition of Karel Music Expo - Wayne Hussey and Howe Gelb among the protagonists showcase of indie music

Cagliari usual date of October with the independent music: Friday 8 and Saturday 9 returns Karel Music Expo, a showcase of the 'indie music' conceived and organized by the cooperative Vox Day with the support of the Autonomous Region of Sardinia (the Entertainment and Cultural Activities Department and the Department of Tourism), the Municipality of Cagliari (Department of Youth and Culture Department) and the President of the Province of Cagliari. Its fourth edition, the exhibition confirms the formula tried and tested successfully in the past: a program full of music (but not only), with eleven show homes that will happen either on two separate stages from 20 onwards: an electric set up as usual at the Teatro Municipal di Castello and the other sounds, this time a guest of the nearby university library. Eleven different proposals, including soloists and groups representing the local scene - Chemical Marriage , Charme de Caroline, Joe Perrino - of the national - the Caliber 35 and Tuscan Zen Circus - and International: Ireland arrive Preachers Son and Autumn Owls , the UK singer-songwriter Rachel Taylor-Beales , the Spaceships Are Cool and Wayne Hussey (ex-singer-guitarist of the Sisters of Mercy and The Mission), the name of this year's peak Karel Music Expo set to the American Howe Gelb (true "epicenter" of the group Giant Sand).

A cast well-stocked, then, by origin and stylistic references, ranging from rock to punk-funk-jazz, folk legacies and visions of singer-songwriter, blues and electronic pop moments. Music to listen to, but also to reason: the opportunity is provided by the presentation of two different books and their authors. The first meeting (Friday, 8 am to 18:30 University Library) is with Fabriano Fabbri, associate professor of Contemporary Art History at the University of Bologna and author of "Sex art rock and roll," an essay ( of 2006) that explores relationships and references between avant-garde art and mass culture of the twentieth century. Music more closely the argument of "Jimi saint now! " in the middle of the appointment later (Saturday, 9, at 18:30): The latest book by music journalist Enzo Gentile analyzes the character Jimi Hendrix and the reasons that have fueled the legend. A chance to remember, but through the vision of rare films, the great African-American guitarist, exactly forty years after his death. Not only music, but in this fourth edition of Karel Music Expo, taking ideally one of the threads of the previous year, the banner of the universe of energy, aims to focus on nuclear power. There is talk of sustainable development, decrease happy and alternative ways to atomic energy in a conference on Friday 8, 19:30, in Karel Club: meeting, moderated by journalist Hans Zanata, participate Michele Saba, professor of the Department of Physics, University di Cagliari, Andrea Mameli, CRS4 researcher and geologist Paul Usai. Then, to seal the evening after the concerts, the screening of "The Legacy " survey conducted by journalist Sigfrido Ranucci Report for the broadcasting (and contained in the DVD Milena Gabanelli "Ecofollie. For a development (in ) sustainable "), which examines in particular the problem of radioactive waste and disposal of nuclear waste.
